               About the Studio...

Live Oak Pottery is my home based studio where guests can purchase work from the gallery, take classes, participate in workshops, or rent studio space by the day or month.  The studio is named after a majestic Live Oak Tree that was destroyed during a hurricane in 2005, which is the exact spot the studio is built upon.

The studio is located in Jupiter Farms, Florida.  Jupiter Farms is a rural equestrian community located 10 miles from the beautiful Atlantic Ocean in the northernmost part of Palm Beach County.

My work consists of functional, utilitarian pottery fired in an Anagama wood burning kiln located onsite.  I believe the process of woodfiring establishes both a historical, and personal connection to the tradition of ceramic pottery.  All of my work is 100% foodsafe.

The studio and gallery is open to the public by appointment, and Open Studio Events.  I either have a kiln opening, or various demonstrators show their construction techniques.  The Open Studio Events are free to attend.

Woodfiring workshops have been very well attended, and space fills up quickly.  I recently built a small Anagama, and a wood/soda kiln.  I only fire the Anagama kiln from October - April due to our hot summer weather.  I fire the soda kiln year round.  If you are interested in participating in this exciting opportunity, contact me ASAP.  Space is limited and the firings fill up very quickly.
