Solo show at chowan university, murfreesboro, nc
Opening: Thursday, September 2, 2010
Chowan University is nestled in the north east part of North Carolina. Murfreesboro is a small town surrounded by peanut fields. A private school proud of their recent growth in the arts, specifically the field of ceramics, is really hosting some very good art work this coming year.
I feel privileged to kick off the 2010-2011Gallery season with a solo show of my most recent work. The show consists of over 125 pots from the Spring 2010 Anagama firing, and several soda vapor glaze firings in the first half of 2010. The work I am showing is the most exciting work I have produced in several years, and is the harmonious blend of straightforward utilitarian pottery, and the exciting surfaces I produce by reduction cooling in both the anagama, and soda kilns.
I will be at the opening, and I sure hope if you are within driving distance, you will make the trip. Chowan University is really interested in supporting the artist, so 100% of all purchases go directly to the artist. It really will be a great show, and one surely not to be missed!
